yes, i agree with you that there's a context or three missing here. i think i also disagree with you that the jersey shore people are rich people behaving badly; they are behaving badly along the lines of the laddish/punk'd/jackass humor and tastes which also rule the bruckheimer world of movies -- both here and in foreign distribution. it is an ethos of the gatekeepers, and not, perhaps, of the guidoes (altho i wouldn't go so far as to argue that). but it is definitely not rich or aristocratic or powerful people at play here, people whose power to do something else would make a difference. so stanley is kind of off her nut to imply that the kardashians or the guidoes have another venue or vocation of power they could be channeling their fortune into, first; and second, the kinds of things that rich people do for fun are very different from what the kardashians and the guidoes are doing for fun. part of it is that the only power they have is as reality show celebs, altho i am arguing kim's BMI is unprecedented on video and might could represent something realistic.
