Fashion Police

Worst:

This is alleged to be a Givenchy. I don't believe it. It looks like a mambo shirt by Oscar Hijuelos. Actually it looks like two different dresses, both cheesy.

Like this amazing schmatta:

The Fug Girls like it but I think it too is two dresses, or one dress with Mae West's old bed hangings on the bottom. Yikes.

Many, many hideous dresses, some on people I've heard of. SJP, yow. Charlize, mamita! Those two dresses are so bad they look like they were preceeded by a bad neuro event. Barbra Streisand looking dumpy for the first time ever in a black dinner suit with a lace jabot to the knees, ditto diamond necklace.

Still discerning the best. I'm thinking Penelope Cruz, and not just for the arm candy.

A really, really good color which stands out from the carpet, unlike Sigourney Weaver's silly dress behind Penelope. It looks like she's been green-screened. I don't like the bust on Penelope's Donna Karan. But this is the closest to a pretty dress tonight.

I blame Zoe.

Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars, on the beach at St. Barts.

I also thought Jennifer Lopez did very well, tho someone thought that her frock was made from bubble wrap.

The people I was with likes SJP's dress, which I thought was bizarre. Sandra Bullock looked surprisingly nice. And I hadn't been introduced to whatshername Bates before, who was refreshing both in personality and in how her strapless number actually fit nicely. (Although as E noted with dismay, there were too many strapless numbers.)

Am I the only one who loved Vera Farmiga's psychedelic coral reef of a gown?

Agreed on Saldana, though -- that thing is awful from the bottom on up. And I don't get what's going on between the skirt and the bodice.

Banks. Elizabeth Banks is who I meant. The red carpet photos are mediocre, but she looked great on stage.

Ew. There's a skeleton in this post and it's breathing.

yes, i think she's a seriously pernicious influence.

i love a bubble wrap garment, drape, or table cloth. i have to look at her dress again in comparison to the other starlet who wore the same armani bubble wrap dress in ice blue. i think armani has got a new lease on life and that these two dresses were the tame result of his work with lady gaga.

oh yes. that is the worst part of the dress, and makes a lovely slim girl look oogy.

i'm wavering on the farmiga, depending on what angle i see it from. it's either very fabulous, or i get seasick. it also makes her look like a hungry sea anemone when she walks, which is kind of creepy.

and, i'm with e. don't let her see an issue of bride magazine. the brides are all strapless. ugh.

She's the one who gave the technical awards. She was charming and happy and stood up straight. I have found two red carpet photos and they're terrible, so I'm not linking them. :) But I loved her during the show.
