My long experiment, begun in July, 2002, with writing a public but anonymous journal is over. My anonymity is key to this voice, and I've learned a very great deal about people who don't feel accountable to each other, or to me, in this anonymous venue.

You know who you are.

You know I know who you are and that I have no compunction in outing you. That how-to-give-a-blow-job book on your Amazon wish list was my personal favorite, and when the time is right, I'm going to tell your boss, my old friend, all about it.

What makes me sad is that the most vicious and unscrupulous among you are politically ambitious progressives. Good luck with that.

I'd also like to point out it's none of you that have brought this experiment to an end.

I've decontaminated the internet from links between this journal and my real name. From now on this will be a friends-only anonymous journal, instead of a public anonymous journal.

Leave a comment if you'd like to friend. I'm not pruning the friends list I have, because y'all are like, friends.

I'm confused so I'm leaving a comment to friend just in case I need to.

I'm confused too but would like to keep reading.

I already know how to give a blow job.

I'd like to stay on board. Sorry the experiment with a public but anonymous journal is coming to an end, but I understand.

Will you add me back? I understand if you do not want to, but I will miss your posts terribly.

friend, please, if you are willing. I don't know anything about you other than that I enjoy reading this journal.

Heh. After 10 years of living in D.C., all I have to say to THAT is: quelle effing surprise.

Glad you have a firewall.

Still in if there's an in to be had. Sorry about your firewall being breached; that's important to me too.

I still read your journal at what I like to think is a respectful distance. You unfriended a long time ago. I just thought I was uninteresting to you any more and probably held some opinion you found repulsive.

The reason I am commenting here is because I would like to continue to read your writing here and it sounded like you might be going "friends only". I won't comment or bug you in any way, but I find you informative, touching and thought-provoking. So if you are going 'friends only" I wanted to ask you to re-friend me. I don't post frequently, so I son't clutter up your page. You can skip over me easily I'm sure.

The other reason I am commenting is that I wanted you to know that I still read your journal. That relieves me of any feeling that I might be considered a lurker. My intentions are all completely respectful.

I have no desire to ferret out your public identity.

I'm sorry that someone had nothing better to do with their time then squirrel around with your journal. I thoroughly enjoy your posts!

I've not friended you before, having been only a reader, but if it's okay I'd like to be on your friends list. I've recommended your journal to other people as an example of a person who has offered more wisdom about life than any other person I've read online.

I don't mean to pry, and I wish gracefully to respect your wishes about privacy, but I have rather missed your voice recently. I hope to hear it again if that's appropriate, and if not, I'm sorry to have bothered you!
