it's hard to understand, but there's a glimmer on one of the sites -- he loved to be called the golden child, had always been, and rielle hunter zeroed right in on that. i can't think of any other reason he could or would find her shaggable -- except that she has the folie a deux thing down pat.
The hubris, if I may use an overused term, is just staggering. Just like Hart's "follow me around, I'm clean as a whistle" dare. Who thinks, "I'm cheating on my terminally ill spouse while seeking the most high-profile job in the world. You know what? I need to document this"? Someone who does not even imagine that there can be negative consequences, that's who.
it is, and it is daunting to think that after -- i don't know, 300,000 years of civic life? -- this crops up in every generation. like, isn't this what the iliad and the odyssey are about? if i knew anything about eastern lit i suspect the theme is the same.
edit: oops!!! wrong icon, so very sorry. it is the mark of my evil twin. pay no attention.
Convinced of invincibility. It is really quite common once you have climbed up. It is what makes dot com millionaires think their second hare-brained idea will be a hit too.
Apparently it's true based on his whore, Rielle Hunter, trying to get an injunction to get the dvd back or blocked. I couldn't believe it either when I read his butt-boy's claims. But then I figured it was probably true based on all the craziness I'd been reading. THANK GOD he didn't get the Dem nomination. We'd NEVER live it down. Though, according to the butt-boy, old boy is HUNG. Wouldn't mind seeing that. Just for shits and giggles.
Perhaps slimiest of all: When Edwards started paying Hunter's living expenses, the money came from the nonagenarian philanthropist Rachel Lambert "Bunny" Mellon, who didn't ask any questions about where the cash was going. Mellon would pay her interior decorator, who would pass the money along to Young. The cash would be concealed in boxes of chocolates.
