Geeks, Can You Advise?
Feb. 13th, 2011 09:21 amFor a class to teach teenagers how to run concerts in a business-like way, is there a comprehensive consumer report, or a publication I might trawl which would have one, about using Twitter to sell concert tickets? A list of all indie ticket-selling programs like Ticketbud, Ticketfly, Veritix, In Ticketing, compared, contrasted, and rated? For example, are there extra charges for installing the app which checks tix at the door, etc., and/or other hidden expenses above and beyond the advertised $19.95 per event? That's the kind article I'm looking for, that describes all those matters for all the programs and makes a recommendation, a la Consumer Reports.
I found this, but does Wired actually do consumer reviews of Twitter/mobile/ticket sales apps?
In addition, any seminal consumer lit on using the social media for microloans -- like Kickstarter, et al.?
We're writing a grant to teach kids how to do this.
