The Russell K. Pearce Retirement Fund
Apr. 26th, 2010 02:44 pmSo MALDEF is swearing that Arizona's racist anti-immigrant law is going down on constitutional grounds.
But I'd kind of like to make my protest more personal, by contributing money to the political opponents of Governor Jan Brewer and the really insane author of the bill, Arizona state senator Russell K. Pearce.
Prollem is, the only political opponents I can, in a fairly lazy Google, come up with, are crazy ass AZ wangers, including Somos Republicans, the legal Hispanics who are gunning both for Brewer and Pearce.
I can't quite give money to them. Because while Hispanic Republicans are some of my best friends, they're -- well, you know, like the biggest male chauvinist pigs on the planet, and the more legal, the more kleptocratic. It's a Torquemada thang, at least here in Macondo. And I'm still sort of shaky-kneed from an evening I spent on a yacht in Miami with Richard Allen and a bunch of Cuban freedom fighter Republicans singing songs about la perla de las Antillas. I was the only woman within about 10 miles. My notebook protected me.
Let me know if you have news. Or a better idea.
