On the op-ed page of the Burque newspaper, under the attorney general of New Mexico's piece on how he is aggressively pursuing, a year later, in the teeth of a state investigative board's prodding, the malefactors in the scam which invested public pension funds in mortgage bundles (and which quotes his Daddy by name, the former guv), there is an advertisement which reads as follows:

Head Lice?
Participate in a research study!

If one family member has lice, others may too. We can check your entire family!

The NYT, which is no less corrupt in terms of selling its soul and its editorial pages to advertisers of one kind or another, at least observes the standards of good form and disguises the advertising as opinion columns.

I would have thought that for the last two years the Dems would have campaigned solely on the motto, "The other dudes wanted to invest your social security money in the stock market that collapsed. Remember that shit?"
