Now it's Lady Gaga vs. Amber Rose (OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) and Rihanna vs. Bai Ling (HOLY SHIT).

I am beside myself. Not least because the losers are so formidable. But dude, there's no getting past the Bai. Rihanna, Gaga, and Amber Rose (OMG, if you didn't think Kanye West's accessories made him a douche before....) are not to be under-estimated in the unstoppable ambition -- despite, in the cases of Gaga and Rihanna the best stylists on the planet -- to FUGLIFY.

Oh man. I'm exhausted.

I agree, and I think it'll be (or at least, should be) Bai vs. Amber in the final. Lady Gaga is trying to be artistic, and there's a lot of room for maneuvering on that court; Amber just wants to be sharp and edgy, and oh, honey, NO. So much fail.

I honestly don't think Lady Gaga belongs in the Final Four - she's deliberately trying to look outrageous. It's like faulting Sid Vicious for bad manners.

Bai Ling, though. . . there's something astonishing about the sheer awfulness of her choices. She wins, hands down.

Possible topic for a follow-up: Both Bai Ling and Rihanna served in the militaries of their respective homelands. Coincidence?

well, there's extensive soul searching aesthetic discussion on that very topic in the comments, which are immortal -- the rock performer personna vs. the badly dressed chick, and the various nuances thereof. who's dressing to get attention (amber rose, bai ling) and who's got a rock personna plus access to all the major designers and stylists (gaga, rihanna) -- all, all, all of it trumped by the unsinkable FUG!!!!!! each lady superimposes on every outfit. pasties with the armani blazer (riri). what was described in almost gross gynecological terms, a recurring trope for gaga. etc. amber rose and the bai may actually be clinical card-carrying bin candidates, but no major mental illness can get between them and the cam AND THE FUG!!!!

Team Rihanna FTW. She reminds me of Posh Spices of yesteryear. Not in her style, but in her impenetrable, stonefaced vibe daring anyone not to bow down before her powers of couture. She is a True Believer. And she scares me a little. Last year Bai took out Posh. I'm watching with bated breath.
