This place is feeling really stagnant. The only comments I'm getting are on the train wreck posts. I have de-friended at least one ghoul in the past for such behavior.

Still, I didn't start this for the jollies. I did it for the daily writing. Whether or not anybody reads it.

Maybe I should start writing again. What a concept.

I would like to reject, as vigorously and as rudely as possible, the argument that posting here on LJ is for privileged people, slackers and other lardasses who do not have a life or who do not work.

About the only people on my friends' list who are producing electrifying daily posts as well as artistic/literary/scholarly works on the side are the ones who are also working like sonsa bitches at real productive work with terrible deadlines, asshole colleagues, rude superiors, impossible odds, chronic illness, sick children and/or no money.

This idea that LJ is something that you do to waste time, or that you're too busy or too sick or too social to do? Is a great big load of crap. Can it. I mean it.

There's an amazing clip of Mr. Richard playing Rip It Up at his cleanest and most Christian, though the ripper saxes belie the shortness of his hair and the heterosexual Guidoness of his suit. Yow.
